Auston G. McCay, CLU, ChFC 

Auston founded McCay & Associates Insurance in 1965 while he was a WKU student.  A graduate of Graham High School in Muhlenberg County, McCay earned a business degree from WKU in sales, marketing, and insurance and has gone on to earn advanced insurance degrees as a Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant.  He’s served in numerous roles in local, state, and National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors positions and worked with legislators to shape state and federal insurance regulations.

After over 60 years in the insurance business, Auston McCay is still active as a life and health insurance agent in Kentucky and several other states.  He works along wside his son, David McCay, LUTCF and daughter, Janet Martin.

David A. McCay, LUTCF

David currently serves as the company’s principal owner/operator. He graduated from Bowling Green High School, served in the U.S. Army, and graduated from WKU with a bachelor’s degree in computer information system management. After a career as a computer programmer, He re-joined McCay & Associates as an agent in 2006.  He earned the distinction of Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow in 2016.

David is licensed in multiple states including Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, and Florida.

He guides clients with both group and individual insurance decisions for Medicare Insurance options, Kynect Affordable Care Act and the federal Health Insurance marketplace plans, Annuities, Life Insurance, Long-Term Care insurance and more.

Janet McCay Martin

After 30 years teaching English at Bowling Green High, Warren East High, and in Seoul, South Korea, Martin returned to the family-run business in 2024 where she works alongside her father, Auston and her brother, David. A BGHS graduate, Martin first licensed as an insurance agent in 1994 and sold insurance while attending WKU where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English and master’s degree in education. She earned her Rank I through National Board Certification. in 2004.

Martin is a licened life and health insurnace agent in Kentucky and Tennessee and helps clients with both group and individual insurance decisions for Medicare Insurance, Life Insurance, Long-term Care insurance, Dental, Vision & Hearing Insurance, and more.

Jessica Johnson, LUTCF

Jessica started at McCay and Associates in 2010 as a co-op student from Warren East High School.  Initially she handled light secretarial duties and worked her way up to become the office manager and one of the leading agents. While working at McCay & Associates, Jessica graduated from SKYCTC with an associate’s degree and certifications in general management and data entry operating.  She earned her LUTCF designation in 2018.  Jessica is has a Kentucky life and health insurance license and specializes in Medicare Insurance options, Dental, Vision, and Hearning plans, KYnect Affordable Care Act Health plans, and life insurance plans for Kentuckians.

Nancy A. Brown

Nancy Brown has been with McCay and Associates since 2017.  After retiring from Fruit of the Loom, she started working at McCay & Associates part time in the office, became a client, and went on to become an agent.  

Nancy is a licensed health insurance agent who specializes in Medicare Insurance options, Dental, Vision, and Hearing plans, and KYNect Affordable Care Act Health Plans for Kentuckians.

Luke Brown

We want to officially welcome our newest agent, Luke Brown.  A 20-year-old junior at WKU, Luke began at McCay & Associates as support staff in 2023.  The grandson of agent Nancy Brown, Luke is following in her footsteps and completed his health insurance licensing in in 2025.

Luke specializes in Medicare Insurance options and Dental, Vision, and Hearing plans for Kentucky residents.
